Multidisciplinary Cancer Conferences (MCCs)

Multidisciplinary Cancer Conferences (MCCs) are regularly scheduled meetings where healthcare providers discuss the diagnosis and treatment of individual cancer patients. Participants include the full representation of providers involved in a patient's care who has cancer e.g. medical oncology, radiation oncology, surgical oncology, pathology, diagnostic radiology, nursing and can also include allied health. Ontario Health (Cancer Care Ontario) has developed standards for the activities of these groups and have supported their implementation so that every patient who has cancer, should have an opportunity to be discussed in this forum. Evidence is emerging that these conferences contribute to improved outcomes for patients.
