One of Cancer Care Ontario’s functions is to equip health professionals, organizations, and policy makers with the most up-to-date cancer knowledge and tools to prevent cancer and deliver unsurpassed patient care. Some of the ways CCO does this is through guidelines, standards, and cancer planning. They also use a number of strategies to continually improve the performance of cancer services. Some of these strategies are through regular review of regional performance and working with Regional Vice Presidents and the Regional Cancer programs to address problems and make improvements1.
